V.O.B.S.  For the uninitiated, this stands for Voice Over Body Shop - a witty, weekly voice-over web show. It's CHOCK FULL of helpful information, technical and more, for voice talent in the style of Car Talk. V.O.B.S. (formerly EWABS - East West Audio Body Shop) has been running for over six years and is hosted by tech wizards, George Whittam and Dan Lenard, who have "...a passion for voice-over recording technology, and the desire to make recording easy for voice actors everywhere...". The show includes voice-over industry news, tech information, and weekly interviews with the who's who in the industry. While the guys are technically[...]

This year, I've given my entire voiceover business a total overhaul. Earlier in the year, I called it #VOUpgrade2016. I wasn't kidding. Once you start, its like peeling an onion... oh, the layers! The Studio There was a lot of experimenting, learning, equipment returns, and taking two steps back to take one step forward. Most notable is the studio. Studio space upgrade - I purchased the coveted StudioBricks booth and had[...]

When we first bought our home two years ago this week, my husband had the privilege of selecting and buying a home without my seeing it. When he saw the home on his visit to Nova Scotia, Canada from Grand Cayman, he knew instantly that it was the right one. Back in Cayman, I was excited to know that he managed to find something comfortable and appropriate for our family within the limitation of his two week re-con trip. However, when I saw the photos and realized that, like Harry Potter, I was relegated to a space under the stairs…I[...]
