It's officially halfway through the year and I'm on the precipice of nice big changes for my business. Once July hits, I'll have a new studio space, new website, new monthly newsletter, after already having checked MANY other items of my list. Ten years in voiceovers, having worked steadily IN my business, but not ON my business,... it's time. #VOUPGRADE2016 My planned list for upping my game this year included the following: Voice coaching - I spent January and February learning from voiceover coach, Marc Cashman, helping to perfect my voiceover skills. Studio space upgrade - I purchased the coveted StudioBricks booth and had[...]

I've spent the month in all things real estate. While it is my favorite type of script to read, real estate scripts haven't been my main focus overall. As written in a blog almost a year ago, we put our house up for sale and still…it sits…waiting for its perfect buyer... That’s fortunate, because in twenty two years, my husband and I have moved about nine times, but not just across town. We tend to go to the extreme, moving thousands of miles each time – Toronto to Vancouver to New York to California to Ontario to Grand Cayman to Nova Scotia. And, since we were way out on the Atlantic Coast, our next move would naturally be 1000’s of miles back[...]

Adding Audio to Your Content - Part One - Who? As a voice actor, someone who uses and sells their voice for a living, showcasing my voice and having an archive of recorded blogs is an obvious choice for me. Adding audio to marketing adds to the multi-media dimension, offering readers more for engagement. Lucky for me, Linda Daley of Daley Progress has embraced my audio blogs as she is able to listen to it weekly while completing other tasks! But adding the element of an audio file isn’t limited to voice actors. Including a voice in your content, be it a[...]
