Voice Talent

Creating a list of unique selling points is important to help you stand out as an employee, an interviewee, a company What makes me stand out from any other female, middle-age voice talent?  It’s taken me years to know why and how I was in any way different from another. Standing out in a crowd of other voice talent, voice actors, and radio announcers is no easy task. In digging deep and truly thinking about what I uniquely offer, I came up with a list of a dozen points that I can confidently state as my Unique Selling Points. I support anyone in creating a[...]

I will no longer provide rate quotes. A mechanic’s business would fall apart if they set a price before seeing the whole job. I like to think of myself as a customer service expert. Working in the hospitality industry for twelve plus years gave me a great education. And, owning a business as a voice-over professional is no different. In fact, I believe most of my clients[...]

It is my pleasure to introduce to you my dear friend and mentor, Mary Jane Copps, otherwise known as The Phone Lady, as my first guest blogger. Here is her view on the personalities people take on for their outgoing voicemail messages. WHICH ONE ARE YOU? by Mary Jane Copps I’ve spent much of this past week prospecting for both myself and others and I’ve noted common characteristics among voicemail messages. Does your message match any of these … and what does this mean to your prospects and customers? The Flight Attendant This message has the same intonation and pacing as the safety procedure message we hear[...]
